What is client confidentiallity?
Confidentiality means that your therapist will not be communicating any information that is disclosed by you at therapy. This includes that no details will be given to anyone that you are attending therapy. All communications between you and your therapist are strictly confidential. This confidentiality procedure also extends to children and adolescents. Please be aware that there are certain circumstances in which therapists are required to breach confidentiality without the clients consent. This would occur in the event of there being a genuine threat to harming themselves or others or if there is any disclosure of child abuse or abuse towards vulnerable. In these incidences your therapist has a duty of care to protect you and others and therefore confidentiality will be breached. All communications are assessed and monitored to ensure compliance with existing confidentiality and GDPR laws. You will be offered the opportunity for your therapist to liaise with your GP regarding your care. If you give explicit permission for your therapist to speak with your GP regarding your care then your GP will be aware of of your treatment and plan of care with Mindview Clinic.
